We at Des Moines Holistic LLC are working to make our site Root & Rise accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

Root & Rise is committed to making our digital space accessible to all. We have adapted this website in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines and strive to meet the Level AA standard of accessibility.

Our website is designed to work with assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and alternative input methods. We’ve taken steps to ensure that text is readable, contrast is clear, navigation is intuitive, and interactive elements are usable for all.

As part of this effort, we have:

Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
Set the language of the site for assistive technologies
Defined clear content order and heading structures on all pages
Added alternative text to all images
Implemented color combinations that meet contrast standards
Reduced unnecessary motion to support sensory-sensitive users
Ensured that videos, audio files, and downloadable content are accessible

Declaration of Partial Compliance

Some parts of this website rely on third-party content that is not fully within the control of Root & Rise. Specifically, our online booking page is hosted by Boulevard (www.joinblvd.com) and embedded on our site using a scheduling widget.

While we make every effort to ensure that our booking experience is user-friendly and accessible, the accessibility of this third-party content is subject to Boulevard’s own policies and design standards.

As a result, we declare partial compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards for the booking portion of our website.

Accessibility at Our Physical Location

Root & Rise is located within a shared wellness space in Clive, Iowa. We are committed to creating an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all clients. Below is an overview of our current accessibility arrangements:

Parking: Free parking is available in a surface lot directly outside the building.
Building Access: Our suite is accessible only via a staircase with three steps and does not currently have a ramp or elevator.
Treatment Rooms: All sessions take place on the main level, once inside. Doorways are wide, and the space is free of clutter.
Restrooms: A shared, gender-neutral restroom is available. While not ADA-certified, it is wheelchair-accessible in size.
Sensory Considerations: Music and lighting are adjustable in all rooms. Essential oils and scents are used mindfully, and scent-free sessions are available upon request.
Support Animals: Service animals are welcome.

In-Home Sessions (Accessibility-Based):

If the physical location presents a barrier, in-home sessions may be available for clients within a 15-mile radius for a $30 travel fee.Travel beyond 15 miles will incur an increased fee based on distance and setup time.
We are unable to travel to clients located more than 30 miles away.
All travel appointments must be approved and scheduled in advance.
